Raging Motherwell midfielder Callum Slattery says drawing 2-2 against Kilmarnock left his side fuming,as they let a two-goal lead slip away against 10 men.Kevin van Veen gave Motherwell a first-half lead and 23-year-old Slattery bagged a second on the hour, to have the hosts seemingly cruising against toothless Killie. That looked to be even further in their favour when visiting captain Alan Power was shown a straight red card eight minutes later. But in a crazy two-minute spell, Paul McGinn headed a Danny Armstrong cross into his own net, before Liam Polworth fired an unstoppable shot into the top right corner from 25 yards out to level.Englishman Slattery, who signed from Southampton in July 2021, said: “It definitely feels like a defeat.“To be two goals up and then concede two against 10 men, it feels more than a defeat, really.“It’s so frustrating, and we’re fuming by it.“To come away with only a point, we’re not happy at all.“It would have been a springboard, it was there for us, and we had it in both hands, but we let it slip – we’ve got no-one to blame but ourselves.”Slattery added: “We scored the second goal, we felt in control, and that may have been our problem.“That five-minute spell when we just let it lapse, and conceded two goals, it’s just not good enough.“It would have been massive to get a second home win, and it feels like a defeat.“We really feel that if we had won today it would have put us on a good run and we could start picking up some points.”Slattery says Motherwell can take positives from scoring two goals and creating numerous other chances, but knows they must start taking them.He said: “We want to pick up as many points as possible.
