More than half of pubs left without 'lifeline' funding due to grant delays

The Times reports that it leaves many in a precarious position as they wait to receive the emergency Government funding that was announced to keep businesses afloat.

According to a survey by The Forum of British Pubs, fewer than half of eligible pubs have received the grants that were announced to cover the month-long lockdown in November.Eligible businesses were entitled to up to £3,000 for the second lockdown, which was due to be paid towards the end of 2020.It's now almost three months since businesses were forced to close again for the lockdown, though many here in Greater Manchester had already closed under the tier system.Delays have also been reported with the £1,000 'booster' grants that were supposed to help pubs make up the loss.
