Former Manchester United striker Dwight Yorke has described Australian club Macarthur FC, who he recently stepped down as manager of, as being like a "Mickey Mouse slash pub team".

The 51-year-old, who played for United between 1998 and 2002, left the club in January after striker Anthony Carter told him that his contract had been ripped up by members of the club's hierarchy.

Yorke has claimed that he has heard nothing from owner Gino Marra or chief executive Sam Krslovic since and has not even returned to the club to clear his desk and collect his belongings.

An outburst developed after Macarthur suffered a 1-0 defeat to Adelaide United in January. That brought his first senior role in management to a quick conclusion, following his appointment at the A-League outfit in May last year.
