Meghan Markle could be set for an "awkward" reunion with The Queen on her upcoming visit to the UK with her husband Prince Harry, a royal expert claims. The 41 year old will return to the UK next month as she and 37 year old Harry will attend two charity events "close to their hearts." Although it is not believed the pair will reunite with Harry's brother Prince William and his wife Kate Middleton, experts suggest they will visit his grandmother.
But Prince Charles' former butler Grant Harrold tells OK! the meeting could be "awkward" following claims that The Queen said "thank goodness Meghan isn't coming" ahead of Prince Philip's funeral last year.
Grant says: "Meghan will have read what The Queen allegedly said about her not going to Prince Philip's funeral. "I don't see Meghan sitting down with her and asking if it's true. "It's one of those awkward things that will hang in the air and never be discussed.
It just won't be brought up." He continued: "The Queen is such a diplomatic lady, she's not the type to bring it up. I think people forget that Prince Harry probably does speak to her so nothing will be a surprise. "What will be interesting about this visit is that it will clarify exactly where the situation lies." The claim was made last month in Tom Bower's book Revenge: Meghan, Harry and the war between the Windsors.
