Prince Harry and Meghan Markle could return to the royal fold, because "no one else has any interest in having them around", a royal expert has claimed.

The couple left jaws dropping around the world when they announced plans to leave their duties as senior royals in January of 2020, before undertaking their final engagement as working members of the royal family in March of that year. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex subsequently moved to a sprawling mansion in Montecito, California, with their son Archie, now three, and it was there that they welcomed their second child, Lilibet Diana, 14 months old They've had a fractured relationship with the rest of the royals, including Prince William and Kate Middleton, for years, which was compounded by their explosive interview with Oprah Winfrey, in which they made a series of sensational claims about the royals.

Despite this, the Queen is said to still be extremely fond of her "favourite" grandson, Harry, and is keen to keep relations positive - even extending an invite for Harry and Meghan to visit Balmoral Castle this summer.

Whilst their attendance hasn't been publicly confirmed, royal commentator Kinsey Schofield believes that the couple are likely to accept the invitation in a bid to stay relevant.
