MAYFLIES viewers have been left 'utterly destroyed' by Martin Compston's BBC drama. The two-part series started on BBC One last night, and sees Line of Duty star Martin play Jimmy, aka Noodles.
He co-stars alongside Tony Curran, who plays his high school best friend Tully. The drama is based on Andrew O'Hagan's 2020 book of the same name and sees Tully find out he has terminal cancer, before asking his best pal to help him get to Switzerland to end his own life.
While the topics of terminal illness and euthanasia are serious and thought-provoking, the drama handles both with care and also includes some much needed humour along the way.
While some fans are watching the drama episodically, others have binged watched the two-parter on iPlayer, but either way, they've been left in bits.
