Matt Smith Weighs In On 'House of The Dragon' Sex Scenes

Matt Smith is opening up about the House of The Dragon, and shared his thoughts on all the sex scenes in the upcoming HBO series.

Martin’s 2018 novel “Fire & Blood”, and Matt does recognize that the book features its own sexualized content that was brought to the show. “You do find yourself asking, ‘Do we need another sex scene?’” Matt pondered. “And they’re like, ‘Yeah, we do.’ I guess you have to ask yourself: ‘What are you doing?

Are you representing the books, or are you diluting the books to represent the time [we’re living in]?’” He adds that it’s his job, as an actor, to “represent the books truthfully and honestly, as they were written.” However, Matt adds that his character has “slightly too much” sex scenes “if you ask me.” In another recent interview, director and co-showrunner Miguel Sapochnik spoke about how the show depicts sexual violence against women.
