Manhunt after gunman steals nearly £30,000 in terrifying robbery outside Asda - police want to speak to this person

A security guard was robbed at gunpoint of almost £30,000 during an 'outrageous' attack outside a busy supermarket. Armed police were called after the raid occurred at Asda in Hulme at 9.40am today, when the guard was completing a cash-in-transit delivery.

The gunman pointed what is believed to have been a black pistol at the guard before fleeing with a bag containing about £28,500.

The guard was unharmed but has been left shaken up following his 'terrifying' ordeal. No arrests have been made and police are appealing for help.

Officers have released a CCTV image of a man they want to speak to. He is described as being white, aged between 30 and 40, of medium build.
