Manchester United youngster Amad nominated for Championship Young Player of the Year award

Manchester United's Amad has been nominated for the Championship's Young Player of the Year award. Amad, 20, signed for Sunderland on a season-long loan in August and he's enjoyed a memorable campaign with the North East club, as he's contributed a total of 11 goals and two assists across 32 appearances in the Championship.

After an indifferent start to the season, Amad has become a key player for Sunderland and he's now made 22 league starts. The youngster has been nominated alongside Bristol City’s Alex Scott and Middlesbrough’s Hayden Hackney. The award 'recognises the best young talent in the league' and the winner will be announced on Sunday 23 April.

Amad spoke to FourFourTwo last week and said: "I know [his United transfer fee] was a lot of money, but I didn’t really think about that.
