Manchester United's Mason Greenwood has been nominated for the Golden Boy award. The accolade is won by Europe's brightest U21 young talent during a calendar year and, after being won by Rafael van der Vaart in its inaugural ceremony back in 2003, the award has an illustrious roll of honour with names such as Wayne Rooney, Lionel Messi and Kylian Mbappe.
Erling Haaland won the award last year after scoring 41 goals in 41 appearances, but this year's renewal seems fairly open. Bukayo Saka [Arsenal], Pedri [Barcelona], Jude Bellingham [Dortmund], Jamal Musiala [Bayern] and Eduardo Camavinga [Real Madrid] are alongside Greenwood on the nomination list for the award, but there's arguably no standout candidate.
