Despite leading the Red Devils to an EFL Cup and Europa League double in 2017, Mourinho’s man management was often called into question during his time in Manchester and Shaw was one player who often fell foul of the ‘special one’.
Mourinho was in the Old Trafford hot seat shortly after Shaw returned from a horrendous leg injury, and the left-back drifted in and out of the team up under the Portuguese manager.
However, it was the former United boss’ constant public criticism for Shaw’s poor performances, that confused and dumbfounded many.
