Manchester United 'failed to meet Mauricio Pochettino conditions' and other transfer rumours

Manchester United have appointed Ralf Rangnick as interim manager on Monday, but links with Paris Saint-Germain's Mauricio Pochettino remain.

The Argentine head coach is still the preferred candidate to take permanent charge of the Reds at the end of the season but, until May, Rangnick will be in the dugout.

Manchester Evening News reported last week that their first approach for the former Tottenham boss was knocked back by the Parisiens ahead of their Champions League clash with Manchester City.

Telefoot on Monday added that in order to pry Pochettino away from the Parc des Princes, two conditions needed to be met. The first was that United was to pay €15-20m in order to bring him to Old Trafford mid-season.
