Manchester DJ returning to BBC Radio 1 for morning show following successful stint last year

Originally from Northern Ireland, Dean McCullough, 28, has lived in Manchester for the last three years and has been a presenter on Gaydio, the UK’s biggest LGBT+ radio station, since 2018.

In December, Dean provided seasonal cover for Clara Amfo as he took over her BBC Radio 1 daytime show for two days. He will return to the Radio 1 airwaves later this week as part of a five-week stint hosting the early breakfast show on Fridays between 4am and 7am. “It doesn’t feel real,” Dean admits to the Manchester Evening News.
