A man who deeply regrets a sex change operation has called the Scottish Government’s trans policy in schools “immensely cruel” and issued a warning over its gender reform plans.
Ritchie Herron, 35, is suing the NHS over a procedure to remove his male genitals nine years ago. And he believes controversial new laws before Holyrood to make it easier to legally change gender could set some young people on a fast track” to inappropriate drug treatment and surgery. He said: “With good intention, the First Minister wants Bill to be her legacy but she has backed the wrong one.
On the surface, it feels very altruistic and common sense but, when you understand the dynamics behind trans issues, it’s far more complicated.“We need to listen to women who have concerns about safe spaces because bad things happen.
