Man rushed to hospital after incident closes M8 motorway in Glasgow

A man has been rushed to hospital after an incident closed the M8 motorway in Glasgow this morning. We told how emergency services raced to the busy road after the alarm was raised at around 7.35am on Sunday, November 28.

Officers closed off the road westbound between junction 16 and 17 near St George's Cross following the incident.The road was closed for over five hours while emergency crews dealt with the incident.Cars were forced to leave the carriageway at junction 16, Craighall and traffic was heavy on the approach.

The road had reopened by 1pm.The ambulance service attended and officers say a man was taken to hospital for treatment.His condition is not yet known.A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "A man has been taken to hospital
