Man rushed to hospital after emergency services race to Edinburgh city centre casino

A man has been rushed to hospital after an incident at a casino in Edinburgh city centre. Emergency services were alerted to the incident at the Admiral Casino on Shandwick Place after the alarm was raised around 9pm on Wednesday.

Police Scotland and Scottish Ambulance Service rushed to the scene, although cops later confirmed that no criminality had taken place and that they were simply assisting paramedics.

A video shared online showed a man being carried out of the venue on a medical bed and being tended to by ambulance workers, reports Edinburgh Live.

The man appeared motionless and was rushed to hospital soon after - although it is currently unclear what sparked the emergency response.From the footage, one passer-by approaches the building, which is located between Bank of Scotland and Specsavers at the start of the busy Shandwick Place.The man is being wheeled out of the Admiral Casino store by several paramedics with a blanket around him and his bag on his legs.Police officers are also providing assistance in carrying the person out of the shop and towards the ambulance.The amusement centre is typically open 24 hours a day and is home to slot machines and a traditional casino.The Scottish Ambulance Service have been contacted for comment.
