Police and paramedics rushed to Yewdale Gardens in Breightmet, Bolton, at around 1.20pm yesterday afternoon, May 6, to reports that a man was being attacked by a dog.

Neighbours watched on in horror as a 50-year-old man received "life-changing injuries to his arms and face", with some brave residents stepping in to try and help.

An air ambulance was scrambled to the scene, along with a Bolton council Dog Enforcement Control Unit van. Today, GMP confirmed the dog, which the Manchester Evening News understands had only been living
