A man facing a £2,000 fine and a date in court for travelling to the Lake District for a walk during lockdown is demanding it be dropped.
Daniel Marshall, 28, and a friend were pulled over by an unmarked police car as they arrived at Scafell Pike for a Sunday morning hike last January.
The pair, who had travelled to Cumbria from Stockport, were initially handed £200 fines for breaching lockdown restrictions and told to return home.
Daniel says he appealed the fine - but claims he then didn't hear anything back until August when he says he received a letter from Cumbria High Court stating that the fine had been increased to £2,021.
