Man dies after being 'struck by lorry' on road in New Cumnock

A 36-year-old man has died after being struck by a lorry on Scots road. Emergency crews raced to the collision on the A76 road in New Cumnock, East Ayrshire, at around 3.20pm on Thursday.

Police said the man was pronounced dead at the scene. The road was closed for more than five hours as crash scene investigators carried out their work.A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “We received a report of a crash involving a 36-year-old man who was struck by a lorry on the A76 in New Cumnock around 3.20pm on Thursday, 14 October, 2021.“The man was pronounced dead at the scene.“The road was re-opened around 8.40pm and enquiries into the circumstances surrounding the crash are ongoing.”Traffic Scotland’s twitter account tweeted earlier on Thursday
