Manchester City have named Sir Richard Leese as a new honorary president of the club. Leese, 71, is a former leader of the Manchester City Council and a long-term City supporter.
He was a season ticket holder at Maine Road and has been a regular attendee of matches since the mid-90s. Leese joins fellow honorary presidents Tony Book, Raymond Domm and Sir Howard Bernstein in a group that also used to include the late Ian Niven MBE and Tudor Thomas who have since passed away.
Leese's position will see him take part in a ceremonial role in key club activities alongside his regular match attendance.
