Man caught with gun in towel told police he was holding it for his drug dealer

Kevin Mould, 28, was at home in Openshaw when officers executed a search warrant in April this year. Whilst entering the house they saw him wrap an object ‘believed to be a firearm’ in a towel, Manchester Crown Court heard.

Following the search, officers found a bag hidden behind some towels in his mum’s bedroom - within the bag was an Old Webley Mark 6 Revolver and 12 bullet cartridges.

In his police interview he claimed he was in a debt to his drug dealer and was holding onto the gun on his behalf. Mould, of Openshaw, pleaded
