The crash involved a heavy goods vehicle (HGV) which came off the westbound carriageway and went into a field. Emergency services were called to junction 10 near Warrington on Monday afternoon (June 14).

Cheshire Police said they believe the collision was caused by a 'medical episode'. A spokesperson for North West Ambulance Service told Cheshire Live the man was in a serious condition.

They said: "We have taken a patient to hospital in serious condition. "We were called to the scene at 15.53. Two ambulances, an air ambulance, an advanced paramedic all attended." Th
