Man, 62, who died after being hit by car named

A man who died after being hit by a car near a park in Bolton has been named. Hanif Mahomed, 62, was critically injured in the crash on Back Bridgeman Street, near Heywood Park, at around 11.45am on Monday, May 15.

He was taken to Salford Royal Hospital, but sadly died the following day. A woman, aged in her 30s, remained on the scene while police carried out enquiries. READ MORE: Join the FREE Manchester Evening News WhatsApp community No arrests have been made.

An inquest into Mr Mahomed's death opened at Bolton coroners' court on Thursday. Following the crash - which happened at the junction with Recreation Street - police appealed for witnesses saying they particularly wanted to speak to anyone who has CCTV or dashcam footage.
