Man, 31, found dead after police rush to Chorlton Water Park is named

A man whose body was discovered at Chorlton Water Park can be named. The body of 31-year-old Iain Bruce-McArdle was discovered at the popular south Manchester beauty spot early in the morning on Tuesday, July 19.

Emergency services attended after police said they were called to a concern for the welfare of a man at around 5:10am. He was pronounced dead at the scene, they said.

The Manchester Evening News understands the body was not discovered in the water at the park. READ MORE: Horrifying video shows van 'driving at people in the street' as police make attempted murder arrest There were not believed to be any suspicious circumstances surrounding Mr Bruce-McArdle's death, GMP said, indicating a file would be passed to the city's coroner.

Manchester Coroner's Court have now confirmed Mr McArdle's death has been referred to them. An inquest is due to be opened on Thursday, August 16.
