Luke Thompson made an instant impact on his return to the field as he scored Canterbury's first try in four games. The England prop has missed the opening rounds of the season through suspension but wasted little time getting up to speed as he got the Bulldogs on the board against NRL champions Melbourne Storm with his first try since heading down under.
Canterbury have woefully missed the former St Helens ace, losing their first four games of the season and embarrassingly being nilled in three consecutive games.
Thompson started on the bench and watched in horror as his side fell behind 18-0 inside as many minutes. He was brought on after Melbourne's third try.
