Lucy Mecklenburgh has come under fire from some fans after she shared a video of herself explaining that she had opted to use a contraception method that many deem risky.

The former TOWIE star and her fiancé Ryan Thomas’ son Romeo, who is 13 months old, was unplanned. In the video, which was labelled as an "#ad", the 29-year-old TV personality promoted the controversial Natural Cycles as a way of preventing pregnancy, her fans were sceptical.

Lucy urged her 1.7 million Instagram followers to give the method a try, explaining that it works by using your temperature to check when a woman is fertile.
