Love Island host Maya Jama has admitted that she hopes she "lives up to expectations" as she discussed the new upcoming summer series. The hit ITV2 dating series is set to return on June 5, at 9pm, with the 2023 line-up revealed on Monday 29 May.

Speaking ahead of the 2023 summer series, Maya, 28, who took over presenting duties earlier this year for the winter series, admitted the "pressure is on".

Maya said: "It feels so exciting, I was full of nerves for my first series because I was wondering what it would be like. Now, I know I feel really ready and excited, I just can't wait to get started! "Now there’s a bit more of an expectation, I just want to make sure that I live up to that expectation again....The pressure is on for my stylist because the dresses did very well last series!" Talking about what she loves most about being host of Love Island, Maya added: "I love being able to have a bit more of a personal relationship with the Islanders and being able to see all the behind-the-scenes of what goes into making the show. "It’s a nice feeling to be involved in a show that I’ve loved and been a fan of for so long." Talking about what she learnt from the first series, Maya revealed: "I’ve learnt to try and get as much sleep as you can on the plane, although it will be very different this time because South Africa was a lot further than Spain! "I’ve also learnt that everything can change so quickly, you can have an idea of who you think may win one minute and then it can all change the next day." Teasing her outfits for the new series, Maya added: "We haven’t decided yet, but I’ve said that I want to look beachy, sexy and fun.
