Louise Thompson discusses weight gain from medication amid PTSD battle

Louise Thompson has opened up about her weight gain from taking medication amid her ongoing PTSD battle following the traumatic birth of her son Leo.The former Made in Chelsea star, 32, shared a series of posts on her Instagram stories on Wednesday, discussing her current state of mind regarding her increased appetite.

While standing in a Calvin Klein two-piece, she wrote: "I've put on some weight over the past two months. "When you take steroids you might put on weight because your appetite increases.This is also the case for a couple of the anti-depressants I've been on (with the exception of Escitalopram). "The one I'm currently taking definitely makes me more hungry, especially when I feel surges of serotonin.

It's like I immediately crave sugar and run to the fridge." She explained that it wasn't her medication which was causing her to put on weight but due to her cravings and wanting to eat more. "A lot of people think that you 'miraculously' put on weight when you consume medication and like to blame the medication itself for weight gain, when in fact, it is more than likely that you're eating more calories than usual…or adopting poor lifestyle choices." Louise stressed that she hadn't "actually given a s*** because I've had much more important things going on, but I don't want to keep going over by 700 calories a day or I could put on 10kg of fat by Christmas which when you're my height is quite a big deal." Last week (Wednesday 24 August), the star told her fans that "things are getting easier" but she still worries about her mental health struggles following her experiences over the last year which included the traumatic birth of son Leo and a catastrophic house fire when she was pregnant, which left her with.
