Tribute to Ayrshire midwife and practice nurse loved by patients and colleagues
Ayr's Thornyflat Hospital, the town's former maternity base.She later became the practice nurse at Cathcart Street Surgery for over 15 years where she was well loved by patients and her colleagues.Sister Cooper, who was married to Robert for 52 years and lived in Coylton for 50 of those, was known for her no nonsense approach and was well known for her “you’ll be fine” saying.Daughter Caroline said: "She remembered all her patients and would never walk by them in the street, quite often taking ages to get from one end of the High Street to another."She was full of fun and had an amazing energy for life."She was a well known figure within Ayr."Mum was a keen curler and loved to ski.
