Livingston defender Luiyi de Lucas has been called into the Dominican Republic squad for their upcoming friendly against Chile next week. The 28-year-old centre-back has been capped eight times by his country but this is a first call-up since making the move to the Tony Macaroni Arena.De Lucas made his international debut in 2018 and won his last cap in a 3-0 World Cup qualifying loss away to Panama in September 2021.Should he make an appearance, he will become the first Livi player to compete in a senior international fixture since Steve Lawson represented Togo three years ago.The Dominican Republic are currently placed 151st in the FIFA rankings and take on Chile in Vina del Mar on June 16 as they gear up for their CONCACAF Nations League campaign, which gets underway in September. He said: “It is an honour to represent my country again.

I’m very excited to compete against a great national team.” Don't miss the latest news from the West Lothian Courier. Sign up to our free newsletter here
