Livingston boss backs Hibs counterpart to break club's managerial merry-go-round

Livingston boss David Martindale has backed Hibs counterpart Lee Johnson to stop the revolving doors at the Easter Road club.When Johnson’s side travel to West Lothian tomorrow, he’ll be hoping to avoid being the fourth Hibees gaffer in just eight months to suffer defeat at the hands of the Lions.

Jack Ross, Shaun Maloney and David Gray were all beaten by Martindale’s men last term.The capital club’s managerial merry-go-round of late would even have given Livi a run for their money back in the day but Martindale insists it’s no recipe for success.Martindale said: “I think Livingston had some kind of stat like that when I first came in, it was crazy.

I thought Jack was really unlucky and with Shaun for one reason or another it didn’t work out.“I think David was never really serious about the manager’s job as I think he was just holding the reins.”He added: “We are facing a totally different Hibs team now with the personnel on the coaching staff and the amount of players they’ve recruited.“It’s not like maybe when it was from Jack to Shaun the personnel were very similar.
