Liam Fox is set to be named the new boss of Dundee United with East Fife gaffer Stevie Crawford eyed to be his No. 2 at Tannadice.
The 38-year-old worked under axed gaffer Jack Ross and has been interim charge since his sacking following a 9-0 drubbing at the hands of Celtic.
He has been at the helm for three games with a win to guide the Tangerines into the last eight of the Premier Sports Cup and a draw plus loss in the Scottish Premiership.
The Courier report Fox is now the preferred choice for the Tannadice board with East Fife boss Crawford targeted as No. 2. He had a short spell as a Dundee United player, featuring in the 2005 Scottish Cup final defeat to Celtic.
