Liam Donnelly reveals Derek McInnes chat with Kilmarnock boss big pull in summer move

Top six should be the aim for Kilmarnock – so says Liam Donnelly. The Northern Irish midfielder reckons that if last season’s Premiership is anything to go by, a top-half finish is up for grabs to anyone.

Motherwell and Ross County both secured top-six finishes despite having ropey runs throughout the season so Donnelly feels that a bit of consistency would put Killie into contention – although he’s taking nothing for granted in a tough, competitive league.

Donnelly joined from Motherwell and he’s glad to have joined a club like Killie. He told the Kilmarnock Standard: “It was good to get everything sorted after having a bit of time off. “I had the chance to look at my options, I had different teams that wanted me, but I had to make sure it was right for me and my family.
