Dominic Ball has urged Michael Beale to hand Lee Wallace a Rangers reprieve with an invite to join his backroom staff. Ball played alongside the former Ibrox skipper in Glasgow and at QPR and has been impressed by his forward-thinking views on the game.
He reckons Wallace – who retired in the summer – would be the perfect man to assist Beale if he takes up the Ibrox post. Ball told Record Spor t : “Lee spoke very highly of Michael Beale and Lee is someone whose opinion I really respect. “Lee would be a great shout if Michael is looking for someone who knows the club to join his backroom staff.
I can’t speak highly enough of Lee. I still speak to him now. I know he’s taking some time to study the game. I know he’d go in there and give everything he’s got trying to help Rangers be as good as they can be.” Wallace spent eight years in Govan between 2011 and 2019 after signing from Hearts.
The left back cemented his status amongst Gers fans after sticking with the club following their liquidation and demotion to the bottom tier in 2012, when some of his teammates opted not to have the contracts transferred and left for nothing. After his Ibrox contract expired, Wallace teamed up with Mark Warburton once again, joining QPR on a two-year deal.
