Larkhall man jailed after failing to help his injured dog

Apple - Android The court heard it suffered a head wound after being attacked by another dog.Hunter didn't seek treatment for the collie and at least two weeks passed before it was seen by a vet.The dog is understood to have made a good recovery.Scott O'Connor, prosecuting, said the Scottish SPCA received an anonymous call expressing concern for the dog on July 31 last year.He told the court: "The accused was contacted and said the collie had been attacked by another dog."An inspector went to Hunter's home and saw the dog had a significant wound to the top of its head."The accused signed a waiver to allow ownership to be transferred to the SSPCA."The dog was taken away for treatment.
