Lanarkshire residents 'still not getting support they need' as new fire alarm laws come into play

It is understood numerous Lanarkshire families have struggled to get the support they need to enable them to comply with new fire alarm legislation.

The law which came into play this week means every home in Scotland must now have interlinked fire alarms. And many will also need a carbon monoxide alarm.However, households across Lanarkshire were dealt a blow leading up to the February deadline as local organisation Care and Repair - who were assisted with £500,000 from the Scottish Government to help the elderly, disabled, and families of low income comply with the changes - announced the funding had run out.The Lanarkshire Live app is available to download now.
