Lanarkshire banking hub recognised for success at awards ceremony

The success of two South Lanarkshire initiatives was recently recognised at the Scotland Loves Local Awards.Cambuslang BankHUB was named as a runner-up in the Enterprising Communities category after proving a success in returning local banking facilities to the town.

South Lanarkshire Council, meanwhile, was runner-up in the Digital award for its work in Bothwell, Strathaven, Stonehouse and Douglas.The Lanarkshire Live app is available to download now.

As previously featured by Lanarkshire Live, following the closure of all three banks in the town Cambuslang Community Council took the lead in advocating the restoration of a banking service, leading to the Scottish Affairs Committee launching its own report on access to cash in the area.
