'Knives Out' Sequel Will Get One-Week Run in Theaters, Marking First Netflix Release in Major Theaters

The stars of the upcoming movie Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery are promoting their new film! Kate Hudson was joined by co-stars Leslie Odom Jr. and Kathryn Hahn at the Mill Valley Film Festival screening of the movie on Thursday night (October 6) at The Outdoor Art Club in Mill Valley, Calif.

Also in attendance were writer and director Rian Johnson and producer Ram Bergman. Click inside to learn all about the theatrical release… In a major first for Netflix, the streamer will release an original movie in all major theaters.

Glass Onion will get a one-week run in theaters, including the three big exhibitors (AMC, Regal, and Cineworld). The movie will hit 600 theaters on Wednesday, November 23 and play a limited engagement through November 29.

Italy’s Uffizi Galleries are suing the French fashion house Jean Paul Gaultier for damages that could reach over €100,000 (£88,000) after the company’s allegedly unauthorised use of images of Botticelli’s Renaissance masterpiece, The Birth of Venus, to adorn a range of clothing products, including T-shirts, leggings and bodices. The matter came to light earlier this year after the Uffizi in Florence was notified of the garments being advertised by Jean Paul Gaultier on its website and social media. The painting by Sandro Botticelli is the centrepiece of the Botticelli Rooms at the world-famous galleries and, according to Italian law, any use of the country’s publicly-owned art to sell merchandise requires permission and payment of a fee.

‘Avatar 4’: Most of First Act Complete, Reveals Producer Jon Landau
Naman Ramachandran Most of the first act of “Avatar 4” has been completed and most of the film has been designed, producer Jon Landau revealed at a press conference during the Busan International Film Festival on Thursday. “We’ve completed most of the first act of ‘Avatar 4’ and there were logistical reasons why we needed to do that,” Landau said in response to a question from Variety. “We’ve designed most of the whole movie for ‘Avatar 4’ but we haven’t actually filmed all of it – just the first act.” Landau addressed the media after showcasing 15 minutes of footage from “Avatar: The Way of Water” at a sold-out event at the festival, during which he talked up the cutting-edge technology used in the film. Anna Sorokin, Con-Artist From ‘Inventing Anna,’ Released From Prison
Katie Reul editor Russian-born con-artist Anna Sorokin, better known by her alias “Anna Delvey,” is being released from federal jail on a $10,000 bail bond after being arrested by immigration authorities for overstaying her visa in March 2021. Sorokin is required to remain in a 24-hour home confinement with electronic monitoring and no access to social media, per Bloomberg. “We are extremely gratified by the court’s decision today to release Anna Sorokin,” said Duncan Levin, Sorokin’s lawyer. “The judge rightfully recognized that Anna is not a danger to the community.” One month prior to her arrest by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officers, Sorokin was released on parole for good behavior after serving just three years of her four-to-12 year sentence. She was first convicted in May 2019 on eight counts, including theft of services and grand larceny.

The limited-edition book was snapped up quickly and for years has fetched horrifying prices on the secondary market. But original publisher Genesis Books — which specializes in such state-of-the-art photography books — is releasing a 20th anniversary edition of the book today (Oct. 4, 2022). Where the film focuses on Bowie’s entire life, the book is entirely about the rise and fall of the Ziggy Stardust character in 1972 and 1973 — “Eighteen months, that’s all it was,” Bowie writes in the book. Alongside over 600 photographs taken by Rock, Bowie’s provides commentary on the creation and proliferation of the character that, in no understatement, changed rock music.
