Senior members of the royal family have gathered today to mourn the day of Britain's longest-ever reigning monarch. King Charles III could be seen following closely behind his mother's coffin as it entered Westminster Abbey earlier this morning.

During the funeral, the new King could be seen getting emotional as the service went underway. Sitting in the front row, he was joined by other members of the royal family such as his two sons Prince William and Prince Harry as well as his wife Queen Consort Camilla.

On what must be an incredibly solemn occasion for the new monarch, the national anthem 'God Save the King' could be heard resounding all across the historical abbey where the late Queen was wed to her husband Prince Philip who died in April last year.
