The rapper paid $4.5M for the house, which he plans to tear down, and fans mercilessly joked about his intentions. Kanye, 44, caught the internet's ire for purchasing the mansion directly across from Kim's $60M Hidden Hills compound in LA, which they once shared.
Although a source told PEOPLE in late December that he bought the house in the hopes of staying close to his children, the internet has not been shy in saying otherwise. "Kanye outside of Kim's house," one Twitter user captioned an image of Kanye in a creepy face mask from earlier this year, implying he'll be watching her.
