Kerry Katona breaks down over abusive relationship but says she 'wouldn't change a thing'

Kerry Katona broke down in tears on Tuesday 11 October’s Loose Women as she recalled her abusive relationship with ex George Kay.

Kerry, 42, shares eight year old daughter Dylan-Jorge (DJ) with George.The pair were married between 2014 - 2017. He passed away two years after their divorce aged 39 from a suspected drug overdose.

Speaking ahead of the launch of her upcoming third autobiography, Kerry Katona: Whole Again, Kerry spoke to the Loose Women panel – made up of Coleen Nolan, Jane Moore, Janet Street-Porter and Linda Robson – of her relationship with George.

She said: “My mum was waiting for the police to knock on the door and say he’d killed me. “And what I struggle with is, George is dead, I have his little girl, and this isn’t about me badmouthing anybody because we all know how many times the police were called to my house.” She went on: “It’s so difficult because I remember at one time George was covering up my bruises and my mum was looking going, ‘What are those bruises from?’ and I said, ‘Oh it’s from having rough sex mum’ and [George] looked at my mum and she knew that he knew that she knew [what was really going on].” Despite the hardships she went through, Kerry said she “wouldn’t change any of it” because she feels she is now “where I am supposed to be”.
