Steven Gerrard

Steven George Gerrard MBE (born 30 May 1980) is an English professional football manager and former player who manages Scottish Premiership club Rangers.

He spent the majority of his playing career as a central midfielder for Liverpool, with most of that time spent as club captain, as well as captaining the England national team. Widely regarded as one of the greatest midfielders of all time,

Gerrard was awarded the UEFA Club Footballer of the Year award in 2005, and the Ballon d'Or Bronze Award. In 2009, Zinedine Zidane and Pelé said that they considered Gerrard to be the best footballer in the world.

Kemar Roofe teases Rangers injury return as forward steps up Celtic derby comeback bid

The forward has been sidelined for the Ibrox side's last five fixtures after picking up a calf injury during the Europa League win over Lincoln Red Imps.Steven Gerrard admitted the Jamaica international would "probably" be missing until after the international break but wasn't able to provide specifics.

But as a first derby of the season looms on October 17, Roofe has the boots back on. The Ibrox side travel to Celtic Park in eight days' time and the 27-year-old could well be on course to be involved again.He posted a quick update on Instagram showing himself preparing for training.

With a chunk of the Rangers squad off on international duty, Roofe is still in Glasgow continuing his recovery. Much of the side will be due back next.
