Kaye Adams claims being an 'older lady' gave her confidence for Strictly Come Dancing

Loose Women panellist Kaye Adams has admitted she actually lied to her daughter about her age, only ‘coming clean’ as she approached her 50th birthday. The now-59-year-old is ready to enter the Strictly ballroom, having been announced as this year’s fourth celebrity in the 2022 line-up.

However, while she may be dusting off her dancing shoes, Kaye is entering the ballroom ‘without any thought’ that she could be holding the glitterball trophy by the end of it.

Writing in The Daily Mail, Kaye shared: ‘I’m now pushing 60 and therefore placed firmly in the “older lady” category in the upcoming series of Strictly Come Dancing, which I’m thrilled to be taking part in. ‘My age — and the fact I’ve got two left feet — means I’m going into this later-life folly without any thought that I might win. ‘So I will therefore be able to thoroughly enjoy the experience without feeling any of the pressures to do well that the younger, more glamorous celebrities might come under. ’Elsewhere, she discussed the guilt she felt over lying to her daughter about her age.

When she turned 50, Kaye was forced to confess to her daughter that she was 49, instead of a decade younger.
