He then underwent officer training at the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst. He was commissioned as a cornet (second lieutenant) into the Blues and Royals, serving temporarily with his brother Prince William, and he completed his training as a troop leader. In 2007–08, he served for over ten weeks in Helmand, Afghanistan, but was pulled out after an Australian magazine revealed his presence there. He returned to Afghanistan for a 20-week deployment in 2012–13 with the Army Air Corps. He left the army in June 2015.

Kate’s upcoming speech makes her appear 'more authentic' than Harry and Meghan, expert says

The Duchess of Cambridge is gearing up to deliver a keynote talk on the importance of improving people’s understanding of addiction.The announcement came just hours after Prince Harry and Meghan revealed that they are now “impact partners” at Ethic – a sustainable investing firm.

But while all three individuals are pursuing honourable ventures, Popular Culture Expert Nick Ede believes that Kate’s move puts her in a “more authentic” light compared to the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.

Kate will join the likes of Ant and Dec to help launch the Forward Trust’s Taking Action on Addiction campaign on Tuesday 19 October.

She became a patron of the charity in June and the campaign aims to increase awareness of addiction and encourage more people to.
