Kate Middleton has wished the Red Roses rugby team good luck in a video message ahead of the World Cup in New Zealand, which kicks off this weekend.

The Princess of Wales said she will be “setting her alarm early” to watch the England women’s team in the tournament in a new clip shared on the official England Rugby Twitter account on Friday.

Kate is seen beaming in the video as she offers her best wishes to the Red Roses and voices her hopes for the team to “bring the cup home” again, after last winning in 2014.

The princess became the new patron of the England Rugby Football League and Rugby Football Union, inheriting the role from brother-in-law Prince Harry back in February.
