Kate Middleton wears full military uniform as she trains with Irish Guards in the snow

Kate Middleton, is seen wearing a full military uniform and a wooly hat as she battles the snowy elements during her visit to Wiltshire today to meet members of the 1st Battalion Irish Guards.The Princess of Wales is seen kneeling on the ground as she speaks to two members of the Irish Guards, as she took part in a training session.

During the training, Kate learned how to deliver care to injured soldiers during a casualty simulation exercise. Kate who is Colonel of the Irish Guards, was visiting the troops for the first time since receiving the honorary appointment last year.The 41 year old took over as Royal Colonel from her husband, William, the Prince of Wales.

The King, as monarch, is the Colonel in Chief of the regiment. Kate heard first-hand about the work that the Irish Guards are carrying out on the Salisbury Plain training area.The princess first met guardsmen who have been recently deployed on security force assistance tasks across east Africa in which they train and assist foreign forces.

This includes training park rangers on counter-poaching operations. Following this, Kate watched a medical training and casualty exercise.This will include a briefing on counter-explosive ordnance – the de-mining training which is currently being delivered by the Irish Guards to Ukrainian armed forces.The visit will conclude with the princess viewing a demonstration of the weapon systems used by the Irish Guards.
