Princess Kate Middleton and Prince William's "unprecedented" move to Adelaide Cottage in Windsor caused "uproar", according to a royal expert.

The Princess and Prince of Wales recently moved from their Kensington Palace home to Adelaide Cottage in an effort to "downsize".

Although the pair also own Anmer Hall in Norfolk, Kensington Palace was their primary residence while their children attended Thomas's School in London.

However, during an episode of podcast Royally Obsessed, royal experts Roberta Fiorito and Rachel Bowie, claimed that the move was controversial due to the amount of money spent on renovating Kensington Palace.They said: "There is a lot of uproar because Robert Jobson was saying that the Waleses had £12million worth of renovations done to Kensington Palace 1A to make it family-oriented and liveable for them and their kids. "The promise was that they'd be there for the long haul.” Princess Kate and Prince William are the proud parents of Prince George of Wales, nine, Princess Charlotte of Wales, seven, and Prince Louis of Wales, four.
