Jurors in the trial of former Manchester United star Ryan Giggs have retired to consider their verdicts. Mr Giggs, 48, denies headbutting his former partner Kate Greville and behaving in a controlling or coercive manner towards her between August 2017 and November 2020.

He has also pleaded not guilty to elbowing her sister Emma Greville. The jury of seven women and five men were sent out at 3.43pm on Tuesday on the 12th day of the trial at Manchester Crown Court.

They will return at 10am tomorrow to continue their deliberations. Jurors have heard that Ms Greville alleges that Mr Giggs deliberately headbutted her at his home in Worsley on November 1, 2020, where they'd lived together since lockdown.
