Jubilee plea: Council urged to give employees time off for Queen's Platinum celebration

iOS - Android Where services require a continuation of delivery, it is being recommended that employees unable to take the day off on June 3 will have a compensatory day to take at another time.The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee takes place in 2022 and will be the first time any British monarch has reached this milestone.A report to the executive committee states: "To enable employees to celebrate the event, the public holiday, which would normally take place on Monday, May 30, 2022, needs to be moved to Thursday, June 2, 2022."In addition, an extra fixed annual leave day on Friday, June 3, 2022 needs to be granted.
