Joni Mitchell made a comeback to the stage for her first full-length concert in two decades on Sunday. The legendary folk musician, 78, wowed audiences at the Newport Folk Festival in Rhode Island, The Boston Globe reported.
The Big Yellow Taxi hitmaker sat in an ornate wingback chair as she performed, wearing a dusky blue beret and sunglasses. Joni joined festival headliner Brandi Carlile and a slew of other artists, including Wynonna Judd, Allison Russell and Marcus Mumford.
It was the star's first Newport festival performance since 1969. Joni stayed true to her folky, bohemian fashion as she sported a flowy embroidered shirt with pastel tones and some breezy culottes.
The star accessorised with a string of pearly beads and a thick fabric necklace, decorated with deep red polka dots. The famed songwriter has contended with health complications since suffering an aneurysm in 2015 and her last full show was in late 2002, according to reports.
